In consideration of our neighbours, all music must finish before 23:30
Am I allowed to run a bar at my event?
The Village Hall is not licenced to sell or supply alcohol. If you wish to supply alcohol which is to be paid for, either through a cash bar or through the sale of attendance tickets, you will need to apply for a Temporary Events Notice issued by Somerset Council. A TEN currently costs £21 and more information can be found at https://www.somerset.gov.uk/business-economy-and-licences/licensing/temporary-event-notice/. Hirers must inform the Bookings Secretary of their intention to apply for a TEN by completing the relevant part of the Hall Wizard Booking Form.
If you are supplying alcohol which is not being sold during the event or has not been included in a ticket price you do not need a TEN.
How do I use the kitchen equipment?
There is a user manual in the main kitchen, on top of the microwave, to the left of the back door. This contains instructions for all kitchen equipment.
How do I work the sound and lighting equipment?
Instructions on how to use the lighting equipment can be found next to the lighting controls. Stage lighting doors (flaps) can be adjusted by using the pole provided, also stored next to the lighting controls.
Is there anything else I need to be aware of?
The Hall must be vacated by midnight.
Please remove all rubbish from the Hall and take it away with you. Black bin bags are provided for your use in the main kitchen.
When setting up for a large number of people, please ensure the emergency exits are not obstructed by furniture or anything else that may hinder a speedy exit.
If you are hiring only one of the two available areas with the Hall, other hirers may also be in attendance. Please collect tables and chairs as quietly as possible and keep the doors between the rooms closed at all times.
